山や川に囲まれた環境の中で育ち、拾った枝や木の端材で何かを作ることが、ごく自然な遊びでした。

完成させることより、作っている時間そのものに夢中になっていた。特別な意味も目的もなく、ただ内側から湧くものに従って、手を動かし続けていました。

社会人になってから、創作から離れた時期がありました。ものづくりだけでは生きていけないと言われ、それを信じた。やがて過労で鬱になり、頭に死がよぎるようになりました。

そこから抜け出すために、小説、哲学、芸術——さまざまな分野の本を読み漁り、生きるとは何かを自分に問い続けました。

その中で、彫金や革細工を生業とする職人たちと出会いました。それぞれが、自分にできることを持ち、それを仕事として生きていた。

その姿に触れたとき、幼い頃の感覚を思い出しました。意味も理由もなく、ただ純粋に何かを作りたいという衝動が、再び内側から湧き上がってきたのです。

一度失ってはじめて、わかったことがありました。

純粋な欲求を手放さないこと。
そして、それを持ったまま社会と繋がること。

2013年、独学で制作を再開しました。

彫金、革細工、木工、絵画——制作を続ける中で、さまざまな表現を辿ってきました。一つのジャンルにとどまることができず、常に新しい素材や方法を求め続けていました。

大きな絵画も、小さな立体も、自然の中に置いたインスタレーションも。平面と立体の境界を行き来しながら、次第にひとつの感覚へと辿り着きました。

すべては、始めから同じ地平にあった。

大きいも小さいもなく、内も外もない。どこまでもつながった景色の中から、ひとつの気配をそっと取り出し、箱の中へ収める。

紙や木、真鍮などの身近な素材を用い、小さなかたちの中に繊細な造形を重ねながら、まだ名前を持たない物語の気配を探り続けています。

それが、私にとっての制作です。

日常の中で、太陽や月の光はいつもそこにあります。しかし現代の生活の中では、そうした当たり前の光を忘れてしまいがちです。

私は、外にある光を、もう一度日常の景色の中へ取り戻したいと思いました。

穏やかな光を灯すためには、静寂のための空間が必要です。

古く壊れた時計の箱には、長い時間が堆積した静けさがある。木箱には、光が宿るための影が生まれる。

箱とは、繊細な心を守る器なのかもしれません。

作品から色彩を削ぎ落とし、白と黒の陰影を基調としているのも、灯された光をより深く際立たせるためです。

純粋であることは、傷つきやすい。
それでも、内側から湧くものに従って手を動かし続けることが、自分にとって「生きる」ということでした。

この作品たちは、そんな場所から生まれています。

かつて何かを手放した人。
今も、何かを手放しそうになっている人。

そういう人の日常に、そっと寄り添う小さな光でありたいと思っています。

略歴

2013年、独学にて制作開始。
関西・関東の百貨店やアートスペースでの展示を経て、2023年より京都にてアトリエ兼ギャラリーを運営。
2025年、兵庫へ拠点を移す。同年、大垣書店 麻布台ヒルズ店「私に寄り添うブックエンド展」参加、福岡にて個展「白詩」開催。
2026年現在、兵庫県のアトリエをギャラリーとして運営準備中。

先ずは作業スペースを確保するために、押し入れの拡張作業から始まった。季節の厳しさにも耐えられるよう壁に断熱材を入れ、白い壁に生まれ変わる様子を眺めながら、木部を染め、棚を補強する作業を重ねていく。真夏の暑さの中での木工作業は大変でしたが、暗かった部屋が少しずつ光を取り戻していく時間は、とても楽しく充実していました。

今回も和室の押入れを拡張し、作業しやすい空間へと整えていきました。 経年でふわふわしていた床は思い切って撤去し、新たに断熱材と構造用合板で補強。 木部はいつもの塗料で丁寧に染色し、壁には断熱材の上から白い珪藻土塗料を施工。 石膏ボードの継ぎ目もパテで平滑に整え、押入れも広がり、空間全体が明るく爽やかに生まれ変わりました。

制作を再開して数か月、アトリエはいつの間にか道具や材料が行き交う雑多な“生きた場所”になっていた。小さな作品ひとつの裏側には、その何倍もの道具や機材が息づいている。 倉庫や引き出しの奥では、まだ出番を待つ道具たちが静かに眠りながら、そっと順番を待っている。

押入れ横と階段部分の開口部に、新しい壁をつくる作業。 既存部分を活かしながら、昭和の型板ガラス入り引き戸を丁寧にメンテナンスし、壊すことなく壁として再利用。 開口部には柱を立て、壁を新設し白く塗ると、まるで作品の中のような雰囲気のアトリエに近づきました。

古い畳を撤去し、長い歴史を刻んだ床を水平に整えながら、杉板の無垢材を丁寧に施工。 植物由来の色付けで木目を活かし、白い漆喰の壁とのコントラストが美しい、落ち着いた創作空間に生まれ変わりました。

明治時代の古民家をアトリエへ再生する最後の工程。 圧迫感のあった襖の骨組みを活かしてリメイクし、程よく光が差し込む建具に。 大正時代の新聞を下地に発見しながら、木部をマットブラックで統一。 採光部にはプラダンを、下部はベニヤで補強し、柱の塗装や漆喰塗り、畳からフローリングへの変更も行い、ついに新アトリエが完成しました。

明治時代に建てられた古民家を、時間の積層を残したまま少しずつ手で整えていった。　 軋む床の音や、木の呼吸でゆるやかに揺れる空気。　 そのすべてが、静かにインスピレーションを運んでくれる。　 ここで生まれる作品は、過去と今がふれあうようにして立ち上がる。

Growing up surrounded by mountains and rivers, making things from fallen branches and scraps of wood felt like the most natural way to play.I was less interested in finishing things than in the act of making itself. Without any particular meaning or purpose, I simply followed what rose up from inside me, and kept moving my hands.

After entering the working world, I stepped away from making things for a time. I was told you couldn't make a living through craft alone, and I believed it. Eventually, the weight of overwork brought on depression, and thoughts of death began to surface.To find my way out, I read voraciously — novels, philosophy, art — and kept asking myself what it meant to be alive.

Along the way, I encountered craftspeople who worked in metalsmithing and leatherwork. Each of them had something they could do, and they had built their lives around it.Seeing that, something from my childhood came back to me. The urge to make — without reason or justification, simply and purely — rose up from inside me again.

Losing something taught me what I hadn't understood before.Not to let go of what is purely yours. And to stay connected to the world while holding onto it.In 2013, I returned to making on my own terms.

Metalsmithing, leatherwork, woodworking, painting — I moved through many forms of expression. I couldn't stay within a single discipline; I was always searching for new materials, new approaches.Large paintings, small sculptures, installations set into the landscape. Moving back and forth across the boundary between two and three dimensions, I gradually arrived at a single feeling.

Everything had always existed on the same plane.No distinction between large and small, inside and outside. From a landscape that extends without end, I quietly lift out one presence and place it inside a box.Working with humble materials — paper, wood, brass — I layer delicate forms within a small space, and continue searching for the presence of a story that has not yet found its name.That is what making means to me.

Sunlight and moonlight are always there, moving through our days. Yet in the texture of modern life, it's easy to forget such ordinary light exists.I wanted to bring that outside light back into the everyday.To hold a gentle light, you first need space for stillness.An old, broken clock box carries the quiet of accumulated time. A wooden box gives rise to the shadows that allow light to live within it.Perhaps a box is a vessel for protecting something tender.Stripping color from my work, building from the contrast of white and black — this too is a way of letting the light that dwells there deepen and emerge.

To be pure is to be vulnerable. Even so, continuing to follow what rises from within and move my hands — that, for me, is what it means to live.These works come from that place.For those who once let something go. For those who feel on the verge of letting go again.I hope to be a small light that rests quietly beside them in their daily lives.

Began making work independently in 2013. Following exhibitions at department stores and art spaces across the Kansai and Kanto regions, opened an atelier and gallery in Kyoto in 2023. Relocated to Hyogo in 2025. That same year, participated in A Bookend That Stays Close at Daigaku Shoten, Azabudai Hills, and held a solo exhibition, Hakushi, in Fukuoka. Currently preparing to open the Hyogo atelier as a gallery space (2026).
